Character sketches – variations

I sketched a few approximations of the character based on the client’s brief. I created five options for the client to choose from.

Cortázar

Editorial design, graphic design, typography

The client was looking to create a mascot for her brand. The character needed to be a cute and fluffy beaver. The brand is focused on creating hooded blankets for book lovers and creating a cozy and warm atmosphere. The client wanted several poses to use on her website, a youtube banner animation and a pillow cover design.

I first sent different sketches of the character to the client. Once she picked one, I worked on the color using illustrator. I worked later on the character poses using the same method.

I animated the character in after effect. I made it cute and fast, so It wouldn’t take too long to reach the end of the screen and display the banner.

I also design a pillow cover using the mascot. This item is used to ship the blankets to the customers.
